The Miami Township Veterans Memorial recognizes the sacrifices of those who have served in our nations’ armed forces.  Individualized brick pavers bear the names of family members below a stone obelisk, rising over a granite wall recognizing the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.  The Community Foundation of Miami Township raised private funds to build the memorial while the Township donated the land for the memorial site adjacent to the Government Center Complex.  Dedicated in 2008 with a fly over of F-16’s from the Springfield Air National Guard Base, 178th Wing, the Memorial serves as a lasting reminder of the sacrifices made to secure our freedom.
